About
Built because schools should be safer
Pioneer started as a father’s passion — then became a system districts can own.
Why Pioneer exists
When Mark’s daughter was born, the thing that mattered most wasn’t a product roadmap. It was protecting her. Schools are where kids spend their days — and too often they’re also a soft target: aging systems, cloud cameras anyone can reach if credentials leak, and buildings that rent safety instead of owning it.
That worry became the passion behind Pioneer: put serious security in the building, under the school’s control — local video, door access, network defense — without a forever cloud subscription. Deeper emergency command modes come later, when the district is ready.
Mark Meyer — designer
Mark is a South Jersey educator and systems designer. He architects and configures Pioneer’s local stack — firewall and VLANs, video, door access, monitoring, backups — and works in plain language with principals, facilities, and technology staff. Certified install partners handle the physical craft in the field.

Dad first. Engineer second. No hype. No cloud theater.
How we work
Pioneer designs and configures. A certified partner installs cameras, cable, and door hardware. Care is ~$3K/yr for monitoring and upkeep. Cloud licensing stays $0 after install.
